8 Valentines Home Decor Ideas

Valentines Home Decor

Valentines Day is right around the corner, and nothing gets me more excited than decorating for holidays! I especially love Valentines Day because it means my birthday is not far behind. Like…the day after! And this is a special birthday! The big 30!! I’m not sure if I should be excited about it, or depressed. But for now, I’ll be excited because that means I get gifts. And what girl doesn’t love gifts?

Back to Valentines Day.. I’ve rounded up some affordable, cute Valentines Day home decor to get you feeling in the loving spirit. Even though I love decorating for Valentines Day, I don’t like to spend a lot of money doing it. I often shop at the dollar tree, the dollar section at Target and attempt some easy DIY’s. I also love finding Valentines home decor that can be used year around.

8 Valentines Home Decor Ideas

Love Rug: This is such a cute rug! I love the colors and the material looks decent so you could probably use this for several years!

Kitchen Towels I love using decorative kitchen towels to decorate for specific holidays. It’s such an inexpensive, easy way to decorate for holidays. Plus, you can never have enough hand towels!

Valentines Banner I love hanging banners on our fireplace. Holiday banners, birthday banners, floral and greenery banners. They add so much character and can really spruce up a boring fireplace.

Heart Tray This is such a cute tray. I can think of so many ways to use this. You could use it for your jewelry, a spoon rest on your stove top, hold small office supplies like paperclips, or even put a candle on it. Another great thing about this adorable tray is it could be used all year long. This would be perfect sitting bedside to hold rings and bracelets or on a vanity to hold your favorite lip gloss.

Heart Wreath Wreaths are another great way to decorate for specific holidays. I love putting then on random doors, shutters, and old decorative windows in our house.

All You Need Is Love Sign This is another item that could potentially be used year around. This would be cute sitting on your mantle or hanging in your bedroom above a nightstand. It’s Valentines enough to use as Valentines home decor, but neutral enough that if you left it up year around no one would ever think it was for Valentines Day.

Heart Throw Such a cozy looking throw. I don’t know how your kids are, but mine are lovers of blankets. My son sleeps with his “blankie” and a penguin Christmas blanket every night. So there would be no harm in using this in a little girls room after Valentines Day. Blankets… another thing you can never have too much of!

Home Outdoor Mat I actually just bought this mat! I love it sitting on our front porch in front of our red door. This could definitely be used as Valentines home decor, but I will say, I will be leaving this sucker out till it’s faded! Which will hopefully be a few months after Valentines Day!

What are some ways you like to incorporate Valentines home decor? What are your favorite places to shop for holiday decor?

Navy Peplum Blouse

I’m so excited to talk about this navy peplum blouse! It’s probably going to be one of my new favorite blouses as we approach spring. I have gotten so many compliments on this blouse every time I wear it! I love the cut, color, and the material. It’s very well made and super comfortable.

I will say, when I saw THIS navy peplum blouse online I thought the ruffles would start at the waist. However, they start right below my chest. Which is fine, it’s just not what I expected. But either way, I love it! For reference I’m wearing a size small.

Peplum is one of those classic looks that never go out of style. I love that a peplum top can give any outfit a polished look without looking too “over the top.” That’s just another reason I love this navy peplum blouse. I can wear it running errands with the kid or on a hot date with my handsome husband! It’s just an all around perfect shirt!

How about those ripped jeans! I love a good pair of ripped jeans, but these I think have just about had it!! Every time I go to put my leg in my foot goes through the stinkin’ hole. Which just makes the holes even bigger! lol So, lucky me, while we were taking these pictures at the mall, I got a new pair of jeans! YAYY!! 🙂 Can’t wait to show you what I got!

What do you guys think? Are you on the peplum train or what?

Street Chic Style : How To Wear It With A Mom Bod

Street Chic StyleStreet Chic Style Street Chic Style Street Chic Style Street Chic Style

I’ve always loved the street chic style. But I’ve always been afraid to rock it, especially now that I’m a mom. There’s just something about street chic style that’s a little risqué, a little dangerous and a lot of fun!

So when I found THIS cute top at Romwe, I thought this would be the perfect top to try an edgier look. It’s not too short, not too tight, but fit just right. Just enough “street” and just enough “chic” that I would feel less like a “street walker” and more “street chic.” As a mom, I find it harder to dress edgier, or what I like to call “scene.” haha. But when you find the perfect pieces to mix together to get that perfect street chic style, you have to run with it!

The key is to find modest pieces, but pieces that have a little flare. Like THIS shirt, which came right to my belt line, but definitely not a midriff. And lets talk about my pants. These are probably my favorite. Even though they are faux leather, which you think you wouldn’t wear a lot..wrong. I wear them ALL THE TIME! They go with just about everything. These are from a few years ago, but I’m going to be linking similar ones below.

I love finding edgy and trendy clothing at Romwe. They have extremely affordable clothing that’s always on trend, but most importantly it’s great quality. Sometimes fast fashion although inexpensive, sacrifices the quality. Not Romwe, that’s why I highly suggest checking out what they’ve got, especially when it comes to trendy seasonal clothing.

So if you’re daring enough to try street chic style here are 5 tips to help you pull it off with a mom bod!

Stay modest, but choose edgy pieces: mix everyday functional pieces with one fun/edgy piece of clothing.

Think leather, lace and dark colors

Strappy heels are a must

Chokers or other fun bold statement jewelry

The look: be confident and walk like you own it. Just be careful walking into the street to get picture lol… that can be dangerous!

8 Pink Sweaters On Sale

Pink Sweaters

Even though it’s January stores are already starting to switch out their inventory. So if you want some deals on winter items now is the time to snag em’! I’ve really been trying to brighten up my wardrobe lately. I tend to wear a lot of browns, blacks and grays. So this year I’m going to start incorporating brighter colors. So, with that being said, I’ve been on a mission to find some cute pink sweaters that I can wear the rest of this season as well as next winter.

Scott and I went shopping yesterday, just the two of us. It was so nice to not have to haul the kids around and hear them whine because they were bored while we were taking our sweet time looking at whatever we wanted to look at! So needless to say, I stocked up on some really cute winter items that were on sale! And most of them happened to be PINK!

Do ya’ll usually stock up on the end of season sales for the next season?

Winter Pastels

Winter Pastels

Winter pastels are always a staple in my closet! I love bringing a little spring into the drab months of winter, especially after Christmas. It’s refreshing to see some brighter, more colorful items in my closet, especially after all the darker colored clothing that seem to haunt my wardrobe during fall and winter! I know we’re only into the second week of January, but I’m already getting my Valentines outfit ready, which I’ll be sharing later this month. As well as getting the spring fever itch! So I’ve put together a list of beautiful pastel items to brighten up your winter blues.

Jewelry Box: What a cute little jewelry case. This would also make a perfect travel case for your jewelry. I’m also thinking a great Valentines gift!

Stone Ring: Love this pave style stone ring. It’s the perfect color to make a statement, but not look too over-the-top!

Floral Tote: This is on my birthday wish list. Which is the day after valentines. I LOVE this tote, it’s so feminine!

Stone Earrings: I prefer stud earrings and these are perfect! I’d wear them in any season and they too are very feminine and don’t look like costume jewelry.

Light Pink Flats: As a mom, flats are just the most practical type of shoe. These are so neutral they can go with just about any outfit! And they’re only $68!

Tassel Charger/Keychain: Talk about convenient. A keychain and iPhone charger all in one! This would be another great gift!

Pink Leopard Sweater: It’s on sale for $44!! It can be style so many ways. Ya’ll know I love my leopard, but since this is pink, it feels less like a fall piece! hint.hint (Valentines outfit)

Crystal Bib Necklace: What a gorgeous statement necklace. I love the neutral colors so can be worn with so many outfits. This would be so cute over a chambray shirt and cute skirt!

Essie Polish: This color is called “fashion playground” very fitting for a fashion blog right? I love this color, it’s the perfect pastel!
